Contact The Artist About This Artwork
This is my original oil painting on canvas, 11 x 14 inches, framed with gallery wrapped canvas, no staples showing. Edges are painted with a light blue wash. This is my homage to Dutch artist, Lawrence Alma-Tadema’s large painting, “Spring.” painted in 1894. I saw this gorgeous painting recently in the Getty Center in Los Angeles. Alma-Tadema’s original is large and vertical, 70” high by 31” wide. I love the references to Greek and Roman images of Springtime and collecting flowers and grass and music. This is the best part of the painting, I believe. It could be a family portrait of sisters, mothers, aunts, and daughters.
