I began this painting on site in Gruene, Texas, a historic town near New Braunfels in the town in the Texas Hill Country. It sits right next door to the famous Texas dance hall, Gruene Hall. It was built in 1872 by German-Texan settlers. It sits on the Guadalupe River and is right next door to the oldest continually operating dance hall in Texas. It is described as an Eastlake Victorian style.
